Before you run payroll, review both employee-level and organization-level data to ensure accuracy and prevent calculation failures or unexpected results.
1. Employee Absences
Verify all absences for the payroll period have been:
Entered
Approved
Transferred to payroll (if using Absence Management)

2. Balance Exceptions & Adjustments
Check for:
Balance errors flagged in the Balance Exception Report
Any required balance adjustments, especially during mid-year or retro conversions

3. Object Groups
Ensure all required Object Groups are:
Configured correctly
Used appropriately in payroll processes like Calculate Payroll, QuickPay, or Retro

4. Payment Methods
Confirm that:
Personal Payment Methods (employee bank details) are valid
Third-Party Payment Methods are configured (child support, garnishments, etc.)
Organization Payment Methods are active and mapped to payroll definitions

5. Tax Withholding Information
Verify employee-level and organization-level tax settings:

State
Local
Supplemental rates (if applicable)

6. Time Entries (if applicable)
Ensure:
Time is entered and approved
Time card statuses are “Approved for Payroll”
Time entries are transferred successfully to Payroll
7. Mass Data Loads or Updates

Validate records (element entries, assignments, balances, etc.)
